Holiday party – December, 2006

The party included facials for residents, a gift from a Mary Kay rep. Staff, residents, big and little sisters all had a great time celebrating the holiday season.
Halloween Party – October, 2006
House residents and several volunteers made this year’s Halloween party better than ever! The festivities included tarot card readings, a haunted room and lots of yummy treats. Several best costume categories were judged and prizes awarded.
A special thanks to Whitney Smith, her friend Jessica, Dililah Dupres and Yolandra Sinclair for their hard work in making this spooky event a success.
Campout - September, 2006
The Mentor Program hosted our annual campout on September 30th and October 1, 2006 at the William Heise campground, outside Julian. Nicha Tabrizi, Vice President and Manager of the Wells Fargo Bank, Fletcher Parkway, and friend Jennifer Donnell, sponsored and led many fun activities. (Nicha is also a potential new Big Sister.) Campfire stories and s'mores capped the evening at this beautiful site; and the girls awoke to homemade pancakes and the smell of sizzling bacon. Our special thanks to Tom Rottler and UCSD Outback Outdoor Recreation program for lending the League tents, mats and sleeping bags from their program.
Annual Picnic- September, 2006
September 17th was the perfect day for the annual Big Sister League picnic. This year, big and litter sisters mixed with house residents, creating a welcoming environment for everyone. Good food, great friendships and wonderful weather made this a memorable day.
Surf Event - September, 2006
September 9th marked the 11th Annual World Famous All Girls Surf Contest presented by Cheap Rentals / Aquahine. Big Sister League volunteers sold raffle tickets for great prizes like surf boards, beach attire, skateboards and gift cards. The League extends a special thanks to Ed and Deb Neva at Cheap Rentals for inviting the League to participate. Swap Meet Event - August, 2006
